Roberto Cavalli opens a nightclub in St-petersburg

The metals tycoon will open a huge nightclub named Kazakova on Kutuzovsky Prospekt in two weeks, RBC Daily reports. The venue will also host concerts, film festivals and cultural and business events.
Italian fashionista Roberto Cavalli, meanwhile, is bucking the current trend for more democratic hot spots, and looking to open two aristocratic clubs in Russia.
Moscow-based Penny Lane Realty told The Moscow News they had been asked to find two premises one in the capital and one in St. Petersburg by the summer for an opening in October or November.
The possible investment in one club will be 2 million Euros, said Alexei Mogila, the head of the commercial real estate department at Penny Lane. At first the clubs will be opened for three years, and after that their business efficiency will be considered.

The O2 Studio Club, which opened last year, has yet to see chic crowds parading their designer gear on the dance floor, while Opera, the former temple of Russia's golden generation, remains closed after a being hit by a fire last year during a refurbishment.

There are plenty of VIP clubs under construction aimed at jet-setters they will all go through the roof there has be no major opening for the last two years, said Ekaterina Belyakova, art director of Fabrique club.

Moscow doesn't have that many VIP people and nouveau riches to blow 800 roubles on a cocktail and DJs can't create anything new or worth listening to so cheap bars will be more popular for now, said Belyakova.
